Mexico Saltwater Fishing Reports
BILLFISH.
A lot of action in this period. Looks like the sailfish have finally
arrived, and they are here to stay!!! A lot of Sailfish, Striped and
Blue
Marlin have been sighted in much larger numbers than last month, and
some
charters have caught 4 or 5 Sails per trip. Special mention to Johnny
Childress from Arkansas (10 years old) and his beautiful 57 lb Sailfish. Billfish have been seen as far as 25 miles and as close as 1 and a half
mile
from the shore (excellent for Mazatlan).
OTHER FISH.
Lots of Bonitas and Black Skipjacks have been caught and some average
Dorados too. Light tackle has been very useful this month, keeping the
lines
tight while the boats are on their way to the 20-25 mile distance. Some
Yellow Fin Tuna have been caught too, in less numbers than the Mackarels
or
Jacks, but still in good size and weight.
In bottom fishing, the Trigger fish remains as the hot one this period.
WEATHER. Sunny (88 F). 46% Humidity. Flat waters. Calm winds. Unlimited
Visibility.
LURES: Live Bonito, Dead Mullet, Palitos ("little sticks") False
Squid,
green/yellow, brown/silver, pink/yellow/orange.
GO GET'EM!!!!!
